About us

Kia ora! I’m Nikita, a māmā to my energetic tama, Tiakina te Āio, Nō Te Wairoa māua, engari e noho ana māua ki Heretaunga. So we're pretty Kahungunu hard. Our Pou, and the behind the scenes man of our Pakihi is Dom, who's Nūhaka hard and also Fijian & Tongan.

Mēnā kei te hiahia koe ki te kōrero māori ki ahau, kōrero mai.

Quickly, just a little bit about how our pakihi came to be.

This business began during my pregnancy, when I experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) a severe condition that caused constant sickness, weight loss, and a lot of anxiety around nourishing myself and my pēp. That season pushed me to learn more about food, ingredients, and the role everyday nutrition plays in growth, development, and wellbeing.

Once Tiakina arrived, that same focus carried over into how I prepared and packed his food. I was looking for lunchboxes that were safe, durable, practical for little hands, and suited to busy whānau life, whilst also celbrating our culture — but I struggled to find options that truly aligned with my values. So I decided to create them myself.

Our lunchboxes are designed by a mum, with the help from @ukaipoarts (Nō Ngāti Kahungunu) for mums and whānau — with a focus on quality materials, safety, durability, and reducing waste. They’re made to support nourishing kai while making everyday life simpler and less stressful.

I’m not a nutritionist — just a mum doing her best, learning as she goes, and creating products that support healthy, happy tamariki.

Thank you for being here and supporting our journey. It truly means more than you know.

Ngā mihi nui,

Nikita 🤎
